Meet the Staff – The IGSHPA team!

Jeff Hammond,
Executive Director

Jeff Hammond

Jeff Hammond is Executive Director at the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA). Jeff earned a B.S. in business administration from the University of Saint Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and an A.A.S. in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University. He has over 35 years’ experience in the ground source heat pump (geothermal) industry, including positions at ClimateMaster, Enertech, Geo-Flo, and WaterFurnace.

Jeff is a member of ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers), AEE (Association of Energy Engineers), ASAE (American Society of Association Executives), and has served on CSA (Canadian Standards Association), AHRI (Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute), and IGSHPA technical and advisory committees. He is currently chair for the next edition of the ANSI/CSA/IGSHPA C448 Ground Source Heat Pump Standard.


Sally Stephens,
Member Services Coordinator

Sally Stephens

Sally Stephens is the Communications and Membership Coordinator for GEO (Geothermal Exchange Organization) and IGSHPA. Sally has a background in State Government where she worked in the Illinois House of Representatives for over 13 years as both a Legislative Assistant and Photographer to the Speaker of the House.

After having her two children, Sally took a step back from the political world volunteering time to her children’s Preschool Co-Op , where she served as Board Secretary, and Co-Chaired the Hospitality Committee for the Springfield Pridefest Board.

Sally lives in Springfield, IL with her Husband, two children and an old yellow dog.


Angela Nys,
Administrative Support Specialist

Angela Nys

Angela Nys is the Administrative Support Specialist/Bookkeeper for IGSHPA. She has spent the last 3 years working as a ministry assistant/bookkeeper at a local church in Chatham, Illinois. Before returning to work part time at the church, she spent 13 years being a stay-at-home-mom. Angela is excited to be joining IGSHPA full time and loves being a part of the IGSHPA team!

Angela lives in Chatham, IL with her husband, 4 kids and puppy Goldendoodle Skywalker, “Sky.” Go Cubs!


Lisa Lipe,
Administrative Assistant

Lisa Lipe

Lisa Lipe is the Administrative Assistant for IGSHPA.  She spent the last year working and helping at her children’s school and before that working as an office manager for a non for profit in Springfield, IL. Before returning to work, she spent 13 years being a stay-at-home-mom. Lisa is very excited to be joining IGSHPA full time and helping with grants and getting the GeoOutlook Magazine up and running again! She is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the IGSHPA team!

Lisa lives in Glenarm, IL with her husband, 4 children and their miniature schnauzer Duke and puppy cavapoo Ruby! Go Cubs Go!


Greg Kurtz,
Technical Director

Mr. Kurtz has over 40 years of experience in the ground source heat pump industry including positions at ClimateMaster, Enertech, FHP/Bosch, Geo-Flo, and Waterfurnace, as well as owned/operated an HVAC contracting business in Ohio.

His most recent position at PoolPak provides great insight into specialty applications that ties in nicely with the work needed at IGSHPA.


Ché Murray,
Technical Project Manager

Che Murray

Ché Murray is the Technical Project Manager for IGSHPA. He has 19 years of experience in the field of Instructional Design. Although Ché’s training experience began in healthcare, his most recent role at Dandelion Energy introduced him to the world of Geothermal Energy. Ché revamped their entire training infrastructure, adding an LMS and developing content that Dandelion currently uses today.

Ché lives in Brooklyn, New York with his wife and 3 kids.
