Residential Design Training Paths

The CSA/IGSHPA training and certification program is a completely different approach compared to previous IGSHPA courses. The core modules (left-hand side) are prerequisites when needed (complete the self-assessment tool to determine which courses are needed based upon industry experience). This process allows a “hands on” approach to the instructor-led (in-person or virtual) GSHP Residential System Design Workshop, focusing on system design versus spending a lot of class time on GSHP “building blocks” that are already covered in the 7 core modules or from individual experience. The modules on the right are designed to provide further learning in addition to the design workshop. Finally, completion of the GRSD exam if desired, provides certification intended to objectively evaluate a candidate’s knowledge, skills, and competencies required to design residential ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems.

*This module is part of the 7 core modules that are prerequisites for the instructor-led residential design workshop. Attendees should review the self-assessment checklist to determine which modules should be taken in advance of the instructor-led workshop.

**This self-paced online course is designed to further prepare you for the optional professional certification exam.
