FAQs

1. Are Membership and Certification the same thing?

Membership and Certification are NOT the same thing. IGSHPA has a document on the website that provides details on membership and certification at https://igshpa.org/wp-content/uploads/Membership-and-Certification.pdf

2. What is the difference between Membership and Certification?

See Answer #1.

3. If I am a member and Accredited Installer (AI), how much does renewal cost when my renewal is up?

IGSHPA has an easy way to renew both membership and AI certification. Members can renew at a discount of $75 per year, whereas, non-members are $225 per year. IGSHPA recommends renewing your membership and certification for 3 years to avoid having to submit CEUs every year.

4. If my IGSHPA Membership and Accredited Installer Certification (AI) are expired, how do I renew?

You can renew your membership at https://igshpa.org/membership/.
Then go to Certification renewal at https://igshpa.org/certification-renewal/ to receive the discounted renewal price.

5. Does my IGSHPA Membership and Accredited Installer (AI) Certification have to be renewed for the same number of years?

For discount on certification renewal, membership term MUST match renewal term. For example, if membership is renewed for 1 year, certification may only be renewed for one year at the discounted price.

6. When and how often do I have to fill out my CEU form for my Accredited Installer (AI) Certification?

The CEU form must be completed every time your certification is renewed. IGSHPA recommends renewing your membership and certification for 3 years to avoid having to submit CEUs every year.

7. Will I get alerts when my IGSHPA membership is going to expire?

Yes, if you have not unsubscribed from IGSHPA’s e-news. Expiration notices are only delivered by e-mail. Memberships expire quarterly and notifications are sent before the end of the quarter and repeated twice if you have not renewed.

8. Will I get alerts when my Certification is going to expire?

See Answer #7

9. If I have my Accredited Installer (AI) Certification, does that automatically give me IGSHPA Membership?

No, IGSHPA Certification is not the same as IGSHPA Membership (See question #1). However, IGSHPA members get discounts on certification renewal.

10. If I work for an IGSHPA Business Member, do I need an Individual Membership to get the certification renewal discount?

No. An individual membership is not required if the business member has added you as an employee to the business membership. Depending upon the type of business members, the number of employees included varies. For example, Business Contractor Membership include 3 members. Additional employee members may be purchased.
